2012: My Year in Review

Saw this on Amanda's blog: Princess of the Panhandle and I decided to do it too. It's a fun way to think back on the previous year.

Jennifer's Year in Review: 2012

What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before? Became a mommy!!

Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any. I don't ever really make any except for this year.

Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes, my sister in law had her 3rd baby...her little boy.

Did anyone close to you die? No. Some people I know did pass away, but we weren't close for a long time.
What countries did you visit? I stayed in the states. Sorry, no traveling for a while for us.

What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012? Nothing I can think of.

What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory? April 3 ... the day my my angel princess was born. I can't believe it's almost a year ago!

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Giving birth to Emma even if it was by c-section. I went through labor as well.

What was your biggest failure? I don't think I have any that I can think of.

Did you suffer illness or injury? Just having the c-section done. I did come down with a cold here and there but nothing crazy.

What was the best thing you bought? Emma's bouncer? I really don't know. She loves that thing so I will go with that.

Where did most of your money go? Baby things, things for stepdaughters and food.

What did you get really, really, really excited about? Having Emma!

What song will always remind you of 2012? Sexy and I Know It. Sorry but my stepdaughter was always singing this, LOL.

Compared to this time last year, are you:

Happier or sadder? Happier!

Thinner or fatter? Thinner YAY!

Richer or poorer? Poorer. *sadface*

What do you wish you’d done more of? Spent more alone time with my husband.

What do you wish you’d done less of? Stressing out.

How will you be spending Christmas? We spent it at home and my family came over. Also my in laws came over before that.

Did you fall in love in 2012? Yes, with the most beautiful baby I've ever seen.

Who were your best friends? Aaron and Emma?

What thing did you do that was meaningful to others? I donated things that we weren't using of Emma's any longer to the families that lost so much due to Hurricane Sandy.

What were your favorite TV programs? Gossip Girl, Dexter, New Girl, Big Bang Theory

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? No

What was the best book you read in 2012? Insurgent by Veronica Roth. It's the 2nd book to the Divergent series. I love these books. If you love Hunger Games, check em out.

What was your greatest musical discovery? Not sure I have any. I'm so bad with music these days and I am not enjoying much of what is out there in the "popular music" categories. Oh wait...One Direction? I think they are adorable.

What did you want and get? My baby.

What did you want but did NOT get? New couches. One day we will.

What was your favorite film of this year? The Hunger Games.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Aaron took me out to eat at the restaurant we got married at. I turned 34.

What kept you sane? Aaron and Emma.

Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Definitely Princess Kate

What political issue stirred you the most? The presidential debate.

Who did you miss? Friends I guess. I feel like we have all lost touch. There isn't much I can do about it though.

Who was the best new person you met this year? My daughter Emma. She is amazing. She learns things so quickly and makes me happy every time I am around her.

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2012. Cherish every single moment of the day. Those little things are what make life worth living.
